Snowpack

Skinned up the Lady around 9 AM under clear skies with no wind. Temps were in the single digits or low teens. On ridgeline, a light wind from the north, and evidence of light wind loading in the bowl and scouring on the north facing slope of Redwell at the top of Emmons.. The bowl had about a foot of new snow sitting on top of a firm, supportive crust. Snow was a little heavier than we expected (but still really damn good), and was becoming more consolidated as we skied and as the day went along. We did see signs of avalanche debris near the 'notch' entry zone for Redwell Basin. We observed no cracking or sluffing on our ski down the bowl around 11 AM. There were 7 sets of tracks before ours.
