Weather

Sunny, cool and breezy. Snow in the sun was moist and cold snow in the trees.

Snowpack

30* South facing aspect @10,351ft. HS 85cm with weak layers present at 45, 35 and 25cm. CTV cutting column at 22cm on 2mm DH, Q2. CTM-13 at 25cm on 3.5mm rounding DH, Q2. ECTH-21 at 25cm Q1. This was a slope I was not keen to get on. Even with solar settling this slope seemed a bit touchy. The hollow spot underneath the snow pack was astounding. The weakness of the basal facets is freighting.

Avalanche

South of TOGNAR a very large crown. Est 5-18ft deep. Looked to be a very large and destructive avalanche. Could not see track or deposition zone .
