WEATHER: Mostly cloudy clearing by 1700 in evening. Moderate winds from N/NW. Cold day.

SNOWPACK/AVALANCHE OBS : Trace of new snow overnight resting on mostly well developed spring MF crusts on all but due North aspects or dark timber where advanced surface facets were observed. A slight reddish tinge of dust was noticed underneath last nights trace of new snow. Overnight winds reached a peak gust of 107mph out here in Gothic at Kettle Ponds Wx station. It's now dry grass out here...all the snow blew south to Mt CB and the Headwall looks plastered :-), but 401 is now nice and tacky. Seriously...shallow but easily reactive windslabs found where deposited on slick crusts and surface conditions. No natural or human triggered activity or instabilities seen today while travelling on a variety of aspects.
