Snowpack

Obs from North Routt Co.---Been out three times this week monitoring the conditions. About a foot of storm snow has buried the surface hoar. I've been surprised by its lack of reactiveness across the rose/up & down. Even on steep, north facing shots- I've seen it slough around a skier, but nothing worth mentioning. No shooting cracks, no whumpfing, no natural activity. I'm suspicious of the layer as we proceed into the future. I haven't yet dug into the snow this week as breaking trail says a lot- it's basically a solid unit to the ground below that hoar. In hopes of getting a bunch more snow, I'll be more focused on this interface when and if it comes, but so far all is quiet in North Routt- Hahn's Peak area 8000-10000ft.
