Snowpack

here is a shot I took from the Mayflower parking lot looking at the SE aspect of the SE ridge of Jacques Peak this afternoon. Due to freshness of slide it must have occurred today 2/25/13 when the sun came out since snow did fall over night. 3 if not 4 separate fxs make me wonder about the snowpack stratigraphy as the fxs did not propagate far thru the terrain features except where the cliffs were. Assume that a weak faceted snowpack kept fxs from spreading far out in the open terrain. Again with only 6-8” of new and a little wind it amazes me to the extent of slides that occur when they occur in this region.
