Snowpack

Weather: Cold and windy; clear skies; intense solar felt on S / SE aspects. Snow Pack: Pits dug on N / NE aspects on 27 and 24 degree slopes: HS 120-125cm; From top 45-55cm fist hardness, 55-80cm four finger hardness, 80 to ground fist hardness and facets. Shovel Tilt Test - very reactive upper 15 cm, sudden planer. Compression Test failed at 6 taps, at the upper 15 cm layer, Compression Test failed at 16 taps, at the facet layer near the ground. Avalanche Activity: No signs of recent avalanche activity. No collapsing or shooting cracks observed. Skied slopes of up to low 30's degrees, without any signs of instability. Skiing was good.
