Southern San Juan

the snow seemed very sensitive this morning with lots of whoompfing and cracks propagating on nearly every slope we encountered. Due to the fog and clouds, we did not see anything more than about 100 yards in front of us. The picture below was on the side of the groomed trail and the slope measured 35 degrees and the slab was 36 inches and the weak layer was faceted snow. Slope is west facing and the activity was remotely triggered by a snowmobile from above. No one was buried or involved other than the snowmobile that remotely triggered from above.

By mid afternoon today, the snowpack seemed to stabilize a lot. We were able to test slopes without any cracking or activity that were cracking remotely earlier this morning.
