Overcast skies with short periods of light snow. Very cold -5 to 15 deg over course of afternoon. ccalm winds.
Snowpack
South: 30 deg slope. 38cm overall depth. Bottom 20cm frozen facets, 1F hardness. 16cm of fresh snow (F hard) above that with a 2-3cm SS or WS forming at surface. compression test showed no reactivity between new snow and old. North: Pit dug on a small 40 deg rollover within a heavily treed area near 8800'. Overall depth 102cm. Bottom 15cm DH. F hard. 70cm of 4F snow above that with weak layers at 58cm and 78cm from ground. Both layers appeared to be made up of large facets. Buried SH found at 85cm from ground with 18-20cm new snow above that. no sign of SS or WS. Test scores of CTE5-SC on SH layer and CTM15-RP on Facets at 58cm. No cracking or collapses while traveling in area
