Aspen Highlands Log Weather Station record from 2:30 pm reads: winds calm 3 mph, gusts of 9 mph, winds coming from NE but switching to NW within the 2 o'clock hour, 34 degree F air temp, 42% Relative Humidity, Dew Point 48 degrees. http://avalanche.state.co.us/observations/weather-stations/
Snowpack
+039.196597/ -106.835609 11259 ft. NE Ski Pen: 37 cm Boot Pen: 41 cm Snowpack Depth: 48 cm 0 cm(ground)-10 cm: 3 cm facets- hollow prisms. These crystals are poorly bonded. (see photos) 11 cm-48 cm: approximately 1-2 cm faceted particles (see photos) None seemed to be trending towards rounding. On the South side of 5 point ridge, the snow is melting quickly and I observed 5 mm old snow particles mid-day.
Avalanche
Avalanche danger was forecasted to be moderate today by the CAIC. No avalanches were observed at Aspen Highlands today.
