Snowpack
Snow surface frozen at start of tour with top 5cm loose on east slopes near and below treeline by 11am. Height of snow ranged from 190-330 cm across east near treeline slopes. Surface snow temp 0C, quickly dropped to -1C 20cm below surface. Snowpack pencil hard to 60cm below surface. Dust layer obvious below recent inch of new snow. Most snow surfaces in highway paths appear rough and "tired" looking. Lower pitches of Big Slide and Quarry View are mostly rock. Main path on Syncline Hill also mostly bare.
