We heard at least 2 sizable natural slides in the distance as we skinned in to the hut on Dec. 26 and observed several small natural releases along our route. After we settled in at the hut, my partner and I went for a quick tour to explore the terrain. We intended to play it extremely safe since we knew the snow was shallow and unstable. Still, we managed to pick a spot to transition that left us somewhat exposed below a small slope (about 50' tall). Fortunately, when we triggered a slide on the north-facing slope, it was to small to reach us at the bottom of the valley.
