Snowpack
Snow surface is faceted on most slopes except southerly slopes. The surface on southerly slopes became moist again today but no wet activity noted.---I dug on a northeast facing slope near treeline and got easy results in extended column tests (ECTP4). There is a 12 to 14 inch cohesive four-finger to one-finger-hard slab over about 12 inches of fist-hard depth hoar. I walked above a few northerly slopes that were about 30 degrees in steepness and noted extensive but older long shooting cracks.---I took a quick look at an east-facing slope near treeline and did not note any weak layers of concern. The snowpack was only about 8 to 10 inches in depth.
