Tour up Elk Basin to top of Scarp Ridge. Watched clouds layers move across SW Colorado with approaching storm. Air temp of -4 at 12,200ft with Mod winds. Snpx is highly variable NTL and ATL on solar aspects with areas of shallow faceted snow and areas with melt-freeze crusts and facets stacked together. A look into Redwell Basin showed NW aspects ATL are scoured with pockets of slabs. Warm day with above freezing temps BTL.
