Dug a pit and column test at location. Sun was radiating throughout day though air temperature and light wind both remained cold. Fresh snow felt stable to ski on steeper open trees at/around treeline. No shooting cracks or other major signs of instability observed. Isolated sluffing on steeper alpine slopes observed in plain view.

Snow pit single column test on NE 30 deg. slope. No wind crust or sun effect observed at pit location. First 10 wrist taps - no result, easily consolidated fresh snow Up to 10 elbow tap - no result, starting to fracture a little bit approx. 40cm below surface 3rd shoulder tap - slab fracture at 40cm below surface (pictured) No further results. Last picture is recent/fresh snow that easily slabs just sliding shovel down. Snow approx 90cm below surface and further gets especially icy feeling.
