Toured up McGill to ski Camp West from its upper entrance. Along the ridge was somewhat wind affected, and the first few turns were a bit variable. On the way down we noticed there was a sun crust was present on micro terrain features that were a little steeper and directly S-facing. Staying on aspects with slightly less direct solar input yielded amazing snow quality. We skied to the bench just above the waterfall choke feature, then skinned up through the tree alley to connect back to the McGill shoulder up track. Skied through the usual glades down to the summer trail. Great snow quality through the upper trees though it did feel heavier than expected, likely due to warming from the sun. Surprisingly reasonable skiing through the lower trees, a nice change from the crust fest it can sometimes be.
