Bring your snorkel to Silvern

Today we rode at Silvern lakes. 30-40 cm of low density snow had fallen overnight. Hard wind slab was still lurking beneath the new snow and made for difficult riding conditions in areas expoed to the recent strong outflow winds. As you transitioned into more sheltered terrain the riding quality increased dramatically. We had limited visibility into the alpine but suspect that the new low density snow will not be bonding well to the previous surface of hard windslab. We observed no new avalanches.
