We attempted the young’s traverse today. Ski quality was suboptimal due to strong wind effect. As to be expected lots of evident holes and minimal bridging on the glacier. Navigation up onto the Neve was reasonable with some probing. HS varied from 50-140 on the ice. Some significant resistance in the mid pack layers on the ice. SH 4-5mm bathtub ring between 1500-1700m in the Illy valley. Ridge top winds were high end of mod-strong with lots of snow transport. We bailed due too an open bergschrund with only one saggy bridge just above forever young
