Lots of whumphs radiating up to 50m away at TL. HS 56cm. Opal trail a scant 5cm. Evidence of past avalanches (>48hrs) on all aspects (Na sz 1-1.5 with one sz 2 on old extinct glacier (see picture)). See snowpack and wx. obs. for details.
Weather
Temp. inversion. -23C in parking lot (1700m at 9:30), -1C at 2100m at 14:00. -16C back at the carpark at 16:30. Clear skies. Calm winds.
Snowpack
Test pit @2080m, E-facing, 25 degrees. CTM11 (SC) down 29 on FC/DH 2-4mm (2/2) CTH26 whole column collapsed (i.e. unable to finish test) (2/2) Upper snowpack 56-48cms (F) Mid-pack 48-27cms (1F) Lower snowpack 27-0cms (4F) FC & DH SH in all sheltered areas, aspects & elevations up to 15mm in size.
