Drove to 580 m on Mulligan FSR in Forester with 4 chains and enjoyed good quality skiing around Mt. Mulligan. Did a few snow obs which are reported in this MIN.

Snowpack

We did a column test and ECT on a N slope of Mt. Mulligan, 30 degrees, 1,500 m ASL. CT failed on 14 taps (resistant planar down ~30) and 18 taps (down ~60). The ECT produced little results but upon pulling on the block at the end of the test it failed (sudden planar) on the facets which we observed just below a crust, down 70 cm. Total snowpack depth was 357 cm, probably a bit wind-loaded based on the N aspect approx 40 m below ridgetop. Some wind-affected snow on the unforested southern aspects of Mulligan, but N. aspects and all aspects in the trees held very good powder.
