Skinned right from the parking lot. Fast travel up to commonwealth peak minus 100m of dry slide path we walked. Ski crampons mandatory on most slopes. Above 2500m there’s dry snow on polar aspects. The couloir skied very well and new snow bonded well to the hard pack below. The couloir is extra thin currently making for an extra step which chops up the line even more so than before so it’s not the best year for it. Put in some gear at the second cliff as we couldn’t find the station. No signs of windslabs in the alpine. Storm rolled in around 2pm and we drove home in heavy wet snow/graupel.
