Sunny and calm with the warmest temperatures of the season.
Snowpack
The avalanche paths along the corridor have lost significant volume over the past week of dry weather. It is hard to believe that we received 2'+ of snow just a week ago. The March sun is STRONG and is quickly melting the recent snowfall, especially on sunny slopes at lower elevations. The dust is filtering to the surface, exacerbating the melting (much more along this corridor than up on RMP- likely due to the lower elevation/warmer temps/thinner overall snowpack). Extensive rollerballing noted on east and west aspects at lower elevations, but no true wet slides. Paths of greatest concern for future wet slides: Ball Park, Scotch Creek, Peterson, White Lizard and Waterpipe. Other paths are thin and quickly transitioning to isothermal.
