Weather

Increasing and sustained southwest wind and broken cloud cover marked the morning on Grand Mesa. The temperature was warm but the breeze made things feel cool.

Snowpack

There is a strong, supportable melt-freeze crust on the surface on all aspects on Grand Mesa. The snowpack on due north aspects is still layered but trending toward homogenous with the dry spell layer that was buried in mid-February showing significant rounding and increasing resistance. A long column test produced no result (ECTX). Roller balling and sun has textured the surface at the Cliffs, further increasing thresholds. The start zones at Island Lake (South-facing) are largely melted out with patchy snow in the tracks and runouts.
