It's snowing out there!

With high avalanche hazard today we went in search of some safe low angle terrain. We saw some cracking and whumpfing on steep banks - and when we dug down we found the weak layer to be the mid Dec facet layer down 70cm. It snowed all day and temperatures were close to zero. We found 35cm of soft snow sitting on a supportive midpack which made the sledding amazing even though where we dug our profile, there was only 100cm snow depth.
