Weather
Sky cover increased today from sunny at 9am, graduating into broken and then overcast. Wind was moderate out of the SW. No new snow. Blo Sno was light.
Snowpack
Cameron and surrounding ranges including Never Summers and Medicine Bow show evidence of strong wind effect. Large amounts of wind scouring is observable on windward aspects. Leeward aspects reveal a large amount of loading. Observed depth of larger wind loaded areas revealed a HS greater than 200cm, more sheltered areas HS range from 140-160cm. Many ridgelines are displaying large cornices and loaded faces. On a NE aspect, at 11,100 with a HS of 200-220cm, around 180cm of dense 1F to P- is found above 4F to F- basal facets at the ground. CT13 SP @ 17cm down, ECTX. Snowpack today was very influenced by the wind. Skiing conditions were challenging, even in northwest to northeast sheltered areas BTL. Cohesion on the top 10-30cm today with many small wind fragments and micro slabs cracking. No large collapsing or whumphing however.
