Feeling like spring

Avalanche

Observed a large natural avalanche on a due east aspect at 12000' at the southern end of the Mount Justice ridge-line. Crown was ~200' wide and the avalanche ran ~750' (rough google earth estimations). The crown was very well defined and deep enough that it was clearly visible from almost 2 miles away on the other side of the valley (but not so visible in my iphone photo). Most likely ran on late Saturday afternoon, and failed at the interface between storm snow/bed surface when storm snow became saturated (just a guess).
