Temp was 34 F at the trailhead at 1130 with scattered clouds and light west wind, 37 F at 11,700' at 1237 with broken clouds and light west wind, and 32 F at 11,500 at 1410 with overcast skies and periodic flurries.
Snowpack
The entire valley floor near the trailhead was covered in 5-10mm surface hoar. Snow in the west-facing trees on the skin track up Mayflower Hill varied between soft and supportable sun crust. Snowpack on the ridge near and above treeline was mostly a hard windslab with some limited cracking. Snowpack on the SW face while skiing down was generally a thin-enough sun crust to punch through on turns.
