Sunny and cold. Amazingly calm winds

Snowpack

Dramatic change in snow from last Monday. Most aspects have very firm layer either on the surface or buried below Monday night's snow. Boot penetration is like quicksand in the lower elevations. Snowmobiles punched through easily. December snow is now a hard slab. Below that is almost powder like.

Avalanche

Several natural avalanches observed, mostly on cornice failures, and in routine locations.
