Small system moved out by 10am. Clearing and becoming sunny by 11am.
Snowpack
Slight wind skin to 5cm windslab at the surface. West, above treeline slopes are mostly stripped. Loaded slopes are wind pressed or thick, stiff wind-drifted slabs across the alpine. Evidence of wet slab avalanches on south at the same elevation. West aspect doesn't have a crust at 11,800ft, and still have stiff (1F to P hard) mid pack slabs stacked on a couple crust-facet combos, and depth hoar at the ground. Slabs are not nearly as continuous across the terrain as other aspects. There is 70cm of snow on the January 19 facets, and the upper pack is supportive. No results in ECTs, PST 50/100(End) show the propagation potential is still there.
Avalanche
2 very large avalanches broke across Geissler Mountain East and West as well as the sub peak just to the east. They ran almost the width of the peaks, but the crowns were about a meter or less. Estimated to have run around February 20,2021. A few other wet slabs on south-facing slopes near treeline. Water Hole #1 ( a southwest facing path) produce a loose wet avalanche sometime over the last week that looked to have crossed the road.
