Near country alpine

No touring partners, so I took a look around some of the alpine West of town. Area of obs from West end Fish lake to Coal lake. In the alpine: Lots of spatial variability, scoured to ground in windward areas. Lee gullies have snow depths of up to 1m (largely not wind affected). Lee features in the alpine have a (largely unsupportive) wind crust. Besides this no crusts observed. Treeline and below snow quality is consistent and good. Depth not so much...
