Weather
Clear and calm, a very pleasant morning.
Snowpack
The upper 20-40cm are weak near-surface facets or decomposing fragments. Boot pen would go to the knee, but with a little movement, sink down to the hip. There is a stronger mid-pack slab from the front end of the big storm over Thanksgiving, sitting above fairly weak 1.5-2mm facets from 45cm to the ground. At first, I had an ECTP15 result within the faceted layer, but I could not repeat this result, so I had an ECTN and ECTX. The varying results align with our dwindling uncertainty about what's going on in the snowpack. It's getting harder to trigger avalanches, but not impossible.
Avalanche
I saw a couple avalanches that were coded in a previous observation
