25 degree slope. East - Northeast facing aspect. 10400'. Heavy winds along most of the face, but slightly sheltered where we dug our snowpit. Slight clouds, with warming temperatures around 2PM.
Snowpack
25 degree slope. East - Northeast facing aspect. 10400'. Fresh storm snow about 1.5 feet deep progressively gets harder until a weak facet layer. Below this week layer is a ice slab about 1-2 inches deep, with another weak facet layer below it. Below this is another 1.5 foot slab of about 1 finger hardness snow. Below this is about 3-5 inches of facets which is starting to turn into depth hoar. Conducted two compression tests. One broke at the first weak layer at a few shoulder taps. Second one broke at the ground at a few shoulder taps.
