Weather

Snow off and on throughout the day--around 4" daytime accumulation. Looks like 14-20" from this storm. Moderate winds at higher elevations. Drifting snow on S and SE slopes NTL.

Snowpack

Observed some stiffening and instabilities in the storm snow on SE slopes, including cracking in isolated wind drifted features. Snowpack depths on S aspects were around 130-140 cm. An Extended Column Test on a S aspect NTL fractured on the old/new snow interface but did not propagate across the entire column. On a SE slope near treeline, a compression test resulted in a sudden collapse but ECT failed to propagate.
