Weather was cold and clear. Temp was 12 deg. at the car at 3 pm.
Snowpack
Widespread surface hoar growth. On shaded pockets of steeper terrain that gets morning sun the upper 10 cm of unconsolidated new snow was sitting on an old sun crust. Was able to trigger a small dry loose avalanche that failed at this interface.
