Weather

Moderate northwest winds. Light transport ATL

Snowpack

2 to 3 inches of low density new did not form any new problems/hazards here: no cracking or slab formation observed. If there were any new slabs forming, they were thin/soft on high southerly aspects from today’s northerly breeze. However, the old hard slabs from last week’s wind events produced a handful of large collapses on S and SE aspects N/ATL. Collapses occurred on 30 to 35 degree slopes. 3 to 5 inch pencil hard slabs over facets in concave terrain features.

Avalanche

Full depth facet sluffs (about 12” deep) below treeline northerlies. Harmless slides where we traveled.
