Dug a very quick snow profile near Grouse Mountain. It was a sunny day above the valley cloud. Cloud bank extended up to around 700-800 m. Winds were calm. Air temp was around -1. Snow depth at 1100 m varied from 100-170 cm. There was about 1 m of settling storm snow sitting on the "Dec. 3" crust. We saw a few resistant planar shears in the top 25 cm. More notably there was a consistent Moderate sudden "pops" shear down 40 cm, and a hard "pops" shear down 100 cm above the notable crust (CTH 24, SP).
