Weather
Increasing clouds were overcast by the afternoon. Temps remained cool, mid 20s. Winds near and below tree line were light. Light snowfall by the end of the day.
Snowpack
Surface conditions included surface hoar and near surface facets on northerly slopes, and thin sun crusts on south and east aspects from wednesday’s warm weather. The mid pack on north and east aspects is less stiff than a week ago has faceted on some slopes we traveled on, generally with HS <1m. Alpine and near tree line slopes showed some recent wind loading from sw winds, but protected slopes could be found, especially near and below tree line. Good skiing conditions on Northely aspects.
