Weather

Chilly to start the day with high thin scuzzy clouds across the sky. These clouds started to burn off around 11:00am.

Snowpack

I dug on a north-facing slope at 11700' and found all the layers of concern we've been tracking. The warm-up at the end of March formed a stiff 5cm crust, but it didn't appear that water had percolated into deeper weak layers. The 3/13 and 3/3 layers were still very evident and reactive with some force. It would maybe give me a little pause on steep, north-facing slopes in open bowls with well-connected slabs. The basal facets from Thanksgiving had gained strength, and were not much of a concern.
