Sunny, strong solar, calm winds. Snow was falling off trees, icicles were forming.

No other signs of instabilities.

Avalanche

ATL, SW-aspect. Triggered naturally at the base of a large rock formation, on slope approximately 40-degrees. Crown height was deep enough to be seen well from across the valley (maybe 2 miles away). Crown width approximately 80 meters wide, track ran approximately 1400’.
