Cloud cover upper 20’s some wind and light grapple snow.
Snowpack
Sugar facets from early season snow on the bottom. Now it has loaded with newer snow with a stiff layer about 8 inches down. Wind slabs have formed firm surface snow in areas. Sitting on this sugar layer
Avalanche
East facing about 11,300 feet, about 10am. We traversed over a slightly steeper pitch ~30. While traversing skier one stopped above the slope and the convex roll. About 20-30 seconds later the slope below him propagated and ran about 100 yard on old snow late October. Slope did have some wind loading. Dry loose persistent slab.
