Avalanche

All 5 avalanches were remotely triggered on an East Aspect near 11,100 feet in the Black Lake Cliffs zone on Vail Pass. The first avalanche was triggered while skinning up a low angle slope connected to a very small steeper slope. The second avalanche, a small slab above cliffs was triggered from above the cliffs while skinning. The final 3, and largest slides, were triggered remotely when a skier in our party skied a pillow line and landed, causing the a collapse that shot 100s of yards in either direction and triggered avalanches on adjacent steeper slopes.
