Mellow laps in the lower part of Log Cabin Slide chutes. We stayed on lower angle terrain as we skinned up to 1200 m. It didn’t snow at White Pass Thursday night. It was a calm clear morning then a bit of high haze and south wind spindrift at ridgetop by mid afternoon. Wind effected snow above tree line but even with little ski pen it was fairly consistent snow in alpine. Much better snow in the trees and glades with 20-30cm ski pen. At lower elevations at 950 m in sheltered areas snow that accumulated from past week settling but still pulls away clean from the facet layer interface down 60-70cm on quick hand shears.
