Scattered clouds with light northwest winds and air temperatures well above freezing.

East aspects below and near treeline show plenty of evidence of recent warm temperatures, with wet snow in the upper 30-60cm or more of the snowpack. Aside from a few trapdoors near rock outcrops or over willows, I did not punch through the snow while traveling on skis. I dug high in Sister 2 (north aspect, near treeline) and found an Hs around 160cm. The upper 20cm were moist to wet, with a melt-freeze crust about 20cm below the snow surface. Below this melt-freeze crust the snow remained cold and dry. ECTX x 2.
