Weather was very calm at the time the pit was dug. Negligible wind. Air temp was around 20F. Mostly cloudy skies.
Snowpack
Aspect: N/NW Elevation: 11,535 ft. Slope Angle: 20d Total depth: 132cm About 15 cm of newer soft snow on top. Middle slab layer is quite stiff (1F) resting above a deep faceted layer to the ground (see image). Compression test failed at ground on CT2 but was concluded due to a rock that it was resting on. Extended column test resulted in ECTX (no propagation through the snowpack) but an isolated fracture at ECTN16. Conclusion: Slab seems to be getting more cohesive with persistent slab harder to trigger. No propagation in ECT.
