Went for a walk up Connaught today and we were able to ski to and from the the disovery center. Travel up the summer trail was suprisingly reasonable. The HS is 75cm at 2000m. 20 cms of low density HN overlies a 4cm thick temp crust, probing below the crust indicates a uniform snowpack to ground. Soft new cornices and pockets of soft windslab ( on a crust at places ) near ridge crest from previous mod to strong winds from the SW. The crust was supportive in most places where it wasn't facetted around rocks. We found good skiing averaging 15cm ski pen in gullies and gentle slopes while avoiding talus and boulders. The ski out offered reasonable travel and it should be noted that we met 10 or so people making their way UP the skin track early afternoon. Ski down cautiously as their may be people around the next corner with very limited options for a graceful colision avoidence manuver. Also of note, there were about 25 people in the drainage today with very limited options so consider this before making the drive ( moguls ) . Happy skiing.

STS ran in the last 24-48 hours to the top of the fan. Size 1
