Weather
Scattered to broken cloud cover at 12,000’ and 10-20mph winds with occasional stronger gusts.
Snowpack
Snow was cold, soft, and wind blown once I traveled above treeline.
Avalanche
I triggered two small wind slabs on my descent down from the ridge at around 12,200’ into US Basin. The first was smaller just off the top, the second was larger about halfway down. Both slabs were small and I was able to ski off of them easily. Based on the avalanches observed and how the snow felt beneath my feet above treeline, I believe that I could have triggered a larger slide or the second slide could have taken me for a ride had I chosen to ski more consequential or steeper terrain today.
