Weather
Windy and warm. Strong winds 25-30 gusting 40-50, vaguely from the S/SW. Felt cold due to wind, but even up at 10,200' backpacks and cloths were getting wet. Moderate wind transport observed lee of ridgetops and some crossroading mid slope as well.
Snowpack
Heavy, vaguely wet, wind pressed snow found in most locations above 9,700'. Fresh windslabs were soft and did not show reactivity in test slopes. Some reactivity, with minor cracking in top 6" of snow directly lee of ridge on a small cornice. When we hit 9,700' on an East aspect above Bear lake (1pm), someone turned the brakes on..aka quite wet snow. Did not observe rollerballs or other evidence of wet loose, but we were out of there by 1:30p.
