Snowpack
North of Opa's Hut, SE facing, 11700ft, dug a quick pit to assess stability of storm snow, got CT1Q1 breaking on the new snow old snow interface. The storm snow had sun affect and had formed a cohesive slab. We experienced several collapses across SW, S and SE aspects around 11500ft. SW, S, and SE aspects were getting quite sun affected by 1100 from 11300ft to 11700ft.
Avalanche
Ashcroft Mountain, W, did not see elevation of crown. HS-NS-R3-D3.5. Best guess is the avalanche occurred on 2/23 or early morning of 2/24. This avalanche was the only natural activity we saw over the 3 days at Opa's which was quite surprising given the amount of loading we saw. However, we did hear 3 avalanches touring in on 2/24 while going from Express Creek into Little Italian Basin. We could not spot the avalanches.
