Weather

CAIC/USGS weather station @ 10,757’. Excellent views to west, north, and east. Morning scudding clouds and blowing snow gave way to mostly sunny skies by 14:00. Winds steady from West about 20mph, gusts to 30 mph. Minor snow transport observed. AM temp 19F, high about 25F at 14:00.

Snowpack

At weather station 168cm HS, notable dense layer 100cm below surface. Typically basal facets in last 10cm on ground level. No collapses, whomphing, or cracks noted. A thin wind slab was present but only in ideal leeward aspects NTL, and no propagation seen.

Avalanche

None seen, but an obscured view until noon prevented some observation angles.
