Weather
At 9900’-11,000’ on north and east aspect. Overcast until 1100. Then clearing skies to full sun by 1300. Temperatures in valley about 29-30F, slightly warmer >TL. Little or no wind.
Snowpack
HS in valley bottom 120-140cm. Slightly deeper at TL. Remarkably there’s 40+cm HS on Seven Utes summit which is normally blown clear of all snow. New snow from last 3+ days is 30-40cm, mid pack layer at 80-100cm noted but no pit dug.
Avalanche
No natural avalanches observed, including cornice drops, although numerous cornices observed on east facing aspects. Ski lines had been dropped into terrain up to 40° on several aspects and no avalanches noted. We carefully skied a slope 30–35° untracked slope north facing and observed no instability, cracks, or collapse. South Diamond Peak and North Diamond Peak, received numerous descends with no observed avalanche activity.
