Fun day out looking at snow condition. Super low snowpack (grass sticking out) even up about 5000' which I have never seen at this time of year for White Pass. Thin rain crust right to the peaks. Some new snow from last week blew around and iinto some of the higher glaciated faces which made for some fun boot deep turns. Good snow was found on very steep north facing couloirs. North aspect snowpack is locked up and very consolidated, but that observation is from feel only (no pit dug). Some sign of class 1 point slides and cornice breakages from the early January storm cycle but nothing has moved since. Prey for more snow...
